Gaal, fortunately, has not given up his foreign eye: his ability to be surprised by things, objects, people and places you see exposed daily.

We expect a photographer to show us what we have never seen. However, an essential quality of an artist is to show us the habitual from a different optics.

That is why I dare to call Gaal, a kind of alchemist, who through his inexhaustible energy, his inseparable camera and his peculiar vision, builds a speech with surprising findings, be it somewhere in the Far East or in a patio in any Guadalajara neighborhood.

With his artistic imagination, he transforms ugliness into beauty, chaos into balance, excess in measure, refocusing our vision. This is one contemporary to Saint Francis' prayer : "wherever there is discouragement, hope; where there are shadows, light; where there is sadness, joy".
